Easy meal options using Turkey Breast Roll

A turkey breast roll is a way to have delicious roast turkey without having to spend hours in the kitchen. In just a little over an hour, you can have juicy roast turkey ready to serve. Turkey breast rolls might seem complicated, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll find yourself having sumptuous turkey dinners whenever the mood strikes.

Unlike chicken breasts, turkey breasts are large enough to feed several people. You should even have some leftovers you can use the next day for sandwiches, salads, and other quick and easy turkey recipes.

How to Roll Turkey Breasts

Rolled turkey breast requires the meat to be rolled into shape, usually with fillings inside of it. Rolling the breasts helps the turkey retain its moisture and flavour when you roast it. It also makes it much easier and more fun when you’re ready to carve it.

The most difficult part of cooking a rolled turkey breast is pounding the meat until it’s even and thin enough to roll. You’ll need a meat mallet and some plastic wrap or a plastic bag to do it. Place the turkey breast between two pieces of plastic wrap or inside the bag. Then take your mallet and start pounding on the meat, starting in the middle before working outward to the sides.

Like a traditional roast turkey, you can stuff your turkey roll with all the trimmings. From stuffing to soft cheese to chutneys and chicken sausage meat, the flavour possibilities are endless! Your rolled turkey will trap these flavours within the meat while it’s cooking, leaving you with a show-stopping entrée.

To roll, start at the long end and start rolling the meat into a long tube shape. Some of your filling might come out while you do this but just ignore this and keep rolling. Once done, take some kitchen twine and tie the roll into place with several knots. Leave around 5cm between each knot.

Then all you have to do is cook your rolled turkey breast according to the recipe’s cooking time.
